Some people who shop on the ACA Marketplace qualify for premium tax credits that reduce monthly costs. Eligibility is determined by the Marketplace based on household income and family size. You'll see your subsidy amount when you start an application through Healthcare.gov or your state's exchange.
Plan tiers
Imperial offers plans across the Marketplace metal levels — Catastrophic, Bronze (lower premiums, higher costs), Silver (moderate, with cost-sharing reductions available for lower incomes), and Gold (higher premiums, lower out-of-pocket costs). Specific plan tiers vary by market.
Shopping with an ICHRA
If your employer offers an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) instead of traditional group coverage, you can use those funds to help pay for an Imperial Individual & Family plan on the Marketplace. Compare plans the same way as any other Marketplace shopper, then apply your ICHRA allowance toward your monthly premium.
Open Enrollment
The ACA Marketplace Open Enrollment Period typically begins November 1. Enrollment deadlines vary by state. Outside of Open Enrollment, you may qualify to enroll if you have had a qualifying life event such as marriage, birth of a child, loss of other coverage, or a move.
